Faith-Michele James began working with a camera as part of her healing work as a survivor of child pornography. Her work focuses primarily on female archetypes and iconography in contemporary culture. Recent projects include "WomanDance: Invoking the Divine Feminine," which honors the courage of modern female belly dancers in their search to re-connect with their feminine power, and “ Inside The Glass Box,” which examines how the emotional affects of fashion mannequins reflect and encourage dysfunctional psychological states in women. Faith is also a volunteer photographer for the Heart Gallery, a national organization that uses fine art photography to create gallery-quality portraits of foster children to increase their chances of being adopted. Faith divides her time between Los Angeles, California, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she lives in a yurt in the Sangre de Cristo mountains with her partner, two dogs and Moe, the coolest cat in the universe.
